10 TIPS TO PLAN A HENS PARTY
Updated: Mar 29, 2019
Every girl wants her wedding day to be perfect. And planning a perfect wedding can sometimes turn out to be a tedious task to carry out. But what comes as a stress buster is a hens party! Whether it’s your sister, or your best friend, planning the most wonderful give-away party would be one of the best gifts a bride could have asked for from her bridesmaid. An event where the bride gets to live her last few days as an unmarried woman calls for an amazing adventure with some of the best people she has lived her life with.
But if you’re already getting jitters on the management of the party, we might have something useful for you. Below are a handful tips to be kept in mind while planning a fabulous Hens party for the to-be bride:
1. TYPE OF HENS PARTY:
The first and the foremost thing to do is to classify what kind of a hens party are you planning to throw. It remains between what the bride is expecting and what you’re planning to deliver. It could be an elegant high tea, spa, a fun movie/karaoke night, fun home activities, a fabulous vacation or just a super fun bar crawl.
2. GUEST LIST:
As much as a surprise that you want this party to be, you do not want to mess up the guest list. Be sure to consult the bride with this list. There might be a couple friends or family members that the bride would have definitely wanted to be with that you might not know of.
This is a crucial part on which everything else depends. You need to set a budget that shall meet the bride’s expectations but also wouldn’t go overboard that it becomes difficult to make ends meet at the last minute.
The location of the hens’ party hugely depends on what kind of a party you’re throwing. But also keep in mind that the bride might have friends from all over the country. So choose a location that is easily accessible to all guests.
You need to decide the means of transport to and from the party location and inform all the guests well in advance so that everybody has ample amount of time to make arrangements. Last minute bookings could take away the fun from the party.
6. KEEPING IT PERSONAL:
This party is probably going to be the last party that the bride gets to live as an unmarried woman and therefore would be an emotional part of her entire journey. Photo journals, scrapbooks, personalized video and hand written messages could serve as an affectionate memory for the bride-to-be.
7. BREAKING THE ICE:
There might be a few guests in the party whose only mutual friend would be the bride herself. So it comes on the bridesmaid to make everybody feel comfortable throughout the party. Invite everyone for group photos, games and candid chitchats. Remember, you’re one of the hosts.
Fun activities like a musical night with karaoke or dumb charades or anything that requires team participation adds on as a great bonding session and warms up the party.
9. SURPRISE ELEMENT:
While the bride would be on board with the guest lists and a lot other things, do keep some activities as a surprise for her. You could get a girl-squad costume, personalized goodies/party favors, mystery location or a secret performance. Don’t forget, everyone loves a pleasant surprise.
10. DO NOT FORGET THE HEN:
Amidst all the party planning, don’t forget that this party is about HER (the bride). Note down all her likes and preferences and then go about the plan.
After all it’s a new beginning of her life and she wouldn’t want to begin it without her bridesmaid by her side.
